How the estimate works

How the estimate works

Creafi combines transparent structural rules with a bounded AI assessment of wording and possible use. The extension, length, hyphens and digits are observable; memorability and commercial fit are assessments. The pricing rules are editorial heuristics, not a model calibrated on completed sales.

01

Read the domain

We identify the registrable domain and its extension, including suffixes such as .co.uk. We do not visit the website.

02

Assess the wording

When available, AI considers the meaning, memorability and fit of the extension. Uncertain or exceptional names are flagged for specialist review.

03

Separate the buyers

Investors and end buyers have different needs. We show ranges rather than a precise price, with a zero investor floor because liquidity is not assured.

FAQ

A clearer view of domain value.

Is this the price I can sell for?

No. A sale depends on a real buyer, negotiation, timing and legal rights. A name can remain unsold at any suggested price. Use this as a starting point, not a purchase recommendation.

Why are there two values?

Wholesale reflects an investor buying for resale. Marketplace value reflects a possible end buyer using the name for a project or business. Neither is a registration or renewal quote.

Does a .com always have more value?

No. The extension needs to suit the name, language and intended audience. Local extensions and specialist extensions can be useful; actual sales evidence is needed to validate a price.

Are these real comparable sales?

No comparable-sales database is connected. We do not generate fictional sales, search volumes or traffic. The method and its limits are shown with each result.

Why can some names not be priced?

Very short or numeric names, international names and apparent brand references need specialist evidence. We show a review recommendation instead of a misleading price.

Does this check whether the domain is available?

No. Use the domain search to check current availability and purchase prices. Appraisal does not reserve, register or change the domain.
